Picture this, sleeping out under the stars in the spectacular and extremely remote Luwi river bed in South Luangwa. No tent, just a bed roll and a mosquito net, experience the thrill of the first safari pioneers and a sky full of stars. The call of lion close by and hyena scouring in search of food. South Luangwa has the highest concentration of hippos and crocodiles in Africa. Renown for it's remoteness and enormous herds of elephant, often seen wandering the sparse river beds in dry season.
Awake to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and to sounds of the bush coming alive. Feel the fresh morning air as you get ready for your day of wildlife activities. Spend the morning walking in search of zebra, elephants and impala or if you are photographic enthusiast head further in search of Luangwa's infamous prides of lion. Wild dog might greet you on the dusty roads or even share a few left over souvenirs behind. If you are really lucky then a leopard may be lazing in a tree not far above you.
